Bridget had been receiving support through the workers compensation scheme for almost nine months, with no reported improvement to her health, before she reached out to us.

Bridget* works as a flight attendant. She was experiencing spinal issues, chronic lower back pain and leg pain – which also led to her developing anxiety.

Work was a two-hour drive from where she lived, and her health issues made being in a car for extend periods very uncomfortable. This made it hard for Bridget to maintain her regular work schedule, further adding to her stress levels as a single mother and with a mortgage.

Pain Coaching Service

Through our Pain Coaching Service, we were able to work closely with Bridget to establish clear personal, social, and work-related goals. The program delivered helpful pain education sessions, movement strategies, activity scheduling and regular discussion around life goals and the importance of returning to work.

After her first two sessions, Bridget said that she felt more confident about managing her pain and could see “the light at the end of the tunnel”.

Within four weeks, Bridget was motivated to return to work on a graded plan, after her pain support consultant kept her employer updated on her progress. She was able to return to full-time work within seven weeks of her commencement of the Pain Coaching Service.
